I wish you a happy new year. We deeply appreciate your continuous support and cooperation toward the Inamori Foundation.
Last year marked the 40th anniversary of the Inamori Foundation. While the whole society resumed vitality free from the COVID-19 pandemic, we have succeeded in various activities.
In April, we held the Inamori Research Grants Presentation Ceremony, followed by a social gathering which featured poster sessions presented by the former grant recipients. Researchers had an open and lively exchange of their views beyond their own research fields, which boosted mutual friendship altogether. This year, we will enhance the grants program furthermore and fulfill the overall support to researchers in addition to the InaRIS (Inamori Research Institute for Science) Fellowship program.
In Summer, we hosted a summer science festival, Science Expo for Kids, under the theme of “Power of Technology,” where we were able to see so many children smiling with excitement. In Autumn, working with the City of Kyoto Symphony Orchestra we conducted the INAMORI Music Day, where many citizens and students had an opportunity to enjoy the attractiveness of the music. In November, we held the Kyoto Prize Presentation Ceremony, honoring the laureates followed by commemorative lectures on the next day, which is nothing but a precious opportunity for the audience to experience their intelligence and personalities.
The Inamori Foundation will continue to contribute to the society by way of conducting the various activities under the philosophy “a human being has no higher calling than to strive for the greater good of humanity and the world,” and “the future of humanity can be assured only through a balance of scientific progress and spiritual depth.”
We would appreciate your continuous support.
