The Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence was established in 2005 at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A. with an endowment from the Inamori Foundation.

Founded in 1826, CWRU is distinguished by its strengths in education and research with emphasis in ethics. The Center is dedicated to the establishment and worldwide promotion of a new ethics led by a sense of conscience shared by all humankind, through related research, education, and practice.
Inamori Ethics Prize
Since 2008, the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence at CWRU has annually presented the Inamori Ethics Prize to outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exemplary ethical leadership and made a major contribution to the betterment of human society through their actions and influence. At each Prize Ceremony, a prize medal and monetary award (US$35,000) are presented to an honoree, who is then asked to deliver a commemorative lecture about his or her work and participate in a symposium to which experts from the respective field are invited.
