Elucidation of a novel anti-inflammatory mechanism via the vestibulo-autonomic reflex
Keyword
Summary
The nervous system is known to be important for the homeostasis of the immune system. The immune control mechanism via the nervous system consists of afferent, brain and efferent. Although the roles of afferent and efferent are well studied, the central mechanism is still unclear. We have reported that C1 neurons in the medulla are important for anti-inflammatory effects through autonomic nerves. This research focuses on the vestibular system that can indirectly stimulate C1 neurons. The aim of the present study is clarify a novel anti-inflammatory mechanisms.
