Screening of an insect hormone receptor in plants

Summary
Soil salinization is one of the major abiotic factors limiting crop productivity. Improving crop salinity-stress tolerance is essential for sustainable food production.
We found that application of insect hormone enhanced salinity stress tolerance in plants due to increase barrier of the roots. To elucidate the molecular mechanism of improvement of stress tolerance by insect hormone, we will screen the receptor of insect hormone in Arabidopsis thaliana in this project.

Comment

At a glance, the insect hormone seems to be unrelated to plant stress response, however, we found the relationship between them. We are interested in how insect hormone, that affect plant stress response. Our research will be contributed to development a novel fertilizer enhancing salinity stress tolerance in the crop.
