Kyoto Prize
Dr. Zakir Hussain, the 2022 Kyoto Prize Laureate in Arts and Philosophy, passed away at the age of 73. He received the 2022 Kyoto Prize for opening up new musical possibilities for the tabla, a traditional Indian percussion instrument, through collaborations with musicians of various genres from around the world.
Dr. Takeo Kanade , the 2016 Kyoto Prize laureate in Advanced Technology, received the John Scott Award. The Award is presented to the individuals who contribute to the “comfort, welfare and happiness” of humankind.
The 2024 Kyoto Prize Commemorative Lectures were held on the 11th at the Kyoto International Conference Center, with 1,100 participants in attendance.
The 2024 Kyoto Prize Presentation Ceremony took place at the Kyoto International Conference Center on November 10, with an esteemed audience of 700 guests in attendance.
